Note:  A game called THROTON Ball is very similar to the Gator Ball game herein.

Gator Ball

 I first came to know about Throtons in one of my college classes. A professor had one and we played a game called Gator Ball with it. I loved it so much and had a blast playing with it, so I just had to buy some for myself.

Gator Ball has two teams.

A possession is started at the midline of the field.

The team with possession has the option to run or pass.

If they run and are tagged by a defender, possession changes immediately to the other team.

They can run and then throw before being tagged.

If they throw and the pass is incomplete or intercepted, possession changes immediately to the other team.

If the pass is completed, the receiver can take up to three steps to stop and gain control.

If the receiver takes more than three steps, it is consider a run, and they are in jeopardy of being tagged and losing possession.

Possession is lost on any (1) tagged "runner", (2) incomplete pass or (3) intercepted pass.

On any interference on a pass play, the ball goes to the team interfered with.

There is only "screen" blocking.

Defenders must stay two strides, or about six feet, away from a person in possession of the ball that is not running.

You score by crossing the goal line either by running across the line or by catching a pass in the end zone.

Team scored upon then takes possession immediately at the midline.
